Camloc quarter turn fasteners have become the OEM chassis constructor's virtually universal choice for bodywork attachment. The larger series (40S5) has a 700lb working strength and 1050lb ultimate strength rating; drive is by a phillips recess in the head. Stud lengths (L) are measured from the top of the head to the end of the pin and are available in 1/32 (.031) increments. 40S5 studs require a grommet in the top panel to help spread stud load. The grommet used is determined by panel thickness, and grommets can be ring retained (R4G ring) or flare retained (typically used on panels 3/16 (.188) and thicker). Studs -16 and longer also require a stud retaining ring (4002SW) to captivate the stud body in the grommet.
Receptacles for this series are fixed (214-16) or floating (244-16). Since stud length varies with receptacle type, please see tech info section on our website or contact us if you are uncertain about stud length.
